2016 Read-A-Thon
The 7th Annual Shepardson Read-A-Thon was held on Monday, October 31, 2016. Shepardson PTO sponsors the Read-A-Thon at Shepardson STEM Elementary as their main fundraiser each year. Shepardson students seek pledges for spending a day at school reading and being read to. To generate excitement, the Read-A-Thon day begins with a literary character parade. Students and teachers are invited to dress as their favorite literary character and carry a book or a sign to let everyone know who that character is. Special guests and surprise Mystery Readers visit throughout the day.
The Read-A-Thon supports Literacy while raising much needed funds for Shepardson, with 100% of the money raised directly benefiting the students and the school. Shepardson STEM Elementary thanks PTO for all their efforts to make the Read-A-Thon a success. Thanks also to the whole Shepardson community for their support of this fun and exciting event.
